Meet the Martincheks
Both
Audrey and I were raised in the Upper Peninsula, aka “God’s Country”. We are
both graduates of Ferris State University and knew early on that we wanted to
live and raise our family in similar surroundings. When the opportunity arose
to move to Cheboygan, we jumped at it. Almost 20 years later we still call
Cheboygan home, and feel lucky to do so!

Real estate is
apparently in the genes. On Audrey’s side she has two younger brothers who are
highly successful real estate brokers from Germantown, WI and Whidbey Island,
WA and a sister who dabbles in interior design. On my side I too have a brother
in-law who is a licensed real estate agent in Phoenix, Arizona and a sister who
has interior design aspirations. You can only imagine what we talk about when
we all get together!
For the past
15 years we have been honored to service the Cheboygan areas real estate needs.
We have met some truly fabulous people who are amongst our closest friends. We
continue to embrace the opportunity to match our clients and customers with the
perfect home or property. It is our true pleasure to show and share this unique
waterfront town, affectionately called “Rivertown”, due to our famous Inland
Water- way system. We proudly boast two of Michigan’s largest inland lakes
known as Mullett and Burt Lake, as well as, easy access to Lake Huron. As if
that wasn’t enough we have Black Lake, Long Lake, Douglas Lake and several
other small inland lakes. Maybe we should be called “Watertown”! If boating and
fishing isn’t your thing, Cheboygan offers an array of other recreational
outlets.
For a small
town, this community is full of activities. They include golfing, hunting, snow
mobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating, and hockey. Within 45 minutes you
can be experiencing down hill skiing, the jingle of the slot machines and the
charm of Mackinaw Island.
Joel has
served as the President of the Cheboygan branch of Kiwanis International and
recently was awarded their highest service award “The Hixson Award”. Audrey has served two terms as a Cheboygan
Chamber Director and 5 years as a Junior Achievement instructor for 2nd and 8th
graders. Each of us is active with the Hospice House and Habitat for Humanity,
as well as, the Cheboygan Hockey Blue Liners Club.
Our most
important role in Cheboygan is as parents. We have two wonderful children who
keep life interesting. Our son Justin is a United States Air Force Search and
Rescue Fire Fighter and is married to Holly who is in school for nursing. They
currently live in Minot, North Dakota. Our daughter Jenna has been accepted to
Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. She will be pursuing a
Marketing/Sales degree. As her parents we are very proud of her accomplishments
and will miss her greatly.
When not
supporting our children or working we enjoy; traveling for hockey, chaperoning
high school functions, Harley motorcycle trips, hunting, snowmobiling, jet
skiing and spending time as a family at our cottage on magical Long Lake in
Cheboygan or our condo in Mexico Beach, Florida.
Lastly, we are care giver to man’s best
friend our chocolate lab named “Diesel”.
We invite everyone to
sample a taste of paradise . . . .once your here you won’t want to leave!
